HPX - May/June 2009 - The George Keeler home and stove shop, Cheshire

The house was built c.1860, before George Keeler enlisted in the Civil War. He built the shop in about 1875 for his stove business. Later this same building had, in the back, an undertaking business. Both buildings are listed on the National Register and the stove shop has one of only two historic storefronts in the Cornwall Avenue-Town Center historic district. The house has been divided into four apartments and both need serious care.
