Marian Anderson: Connecticut's Voice of Freedom
The Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation and the Danbury Museum & Historical Society are proud to present Marian Anderson Connecticut's Voice of Freedom A gala celebration of the restoration of the Marian Anderson Studio in historic downtown Danbury, Connecticut Honorary Chairman: Charles Frosch, Union Savings Bank Sunday, June 13, 20041:30 pm - 5:00 pm~Studio Open at the Danbury Museum and book signing by Marian Anderson biographer Allan Keiler, 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm~Rare Films of Marian Anderson's Life and Career at Parish Hall, St. Peter Church, from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm~Concert of Operatic Arias, Songs & Spirituals at St. Peter Church, at 3:00 pm. Performers include Fred Redd, baritone; Marilyn Moore Brown, soprano; Cheryl Hill, soprano; Wendy Gerbier, mezzo-soprano; Barron Coleman, tenor. The accompanist is Steven Crawford, a member of the conducting staff at the Metropolitan Opera.
